Journey Person

Position Summary

The Journeyworker Electrician is responsible for layout, installation, and repair of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. They will ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. The Journeyworker Electrician also may direct the activities of Apprentice Electricians and Electricians Helpers.

  • Able to understand project scope, including requirements, expectations, and deliverables.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of assigned workers.
  • Capable of working projects with minimal supervision
  • Maintain on-site time keeping and weekly time cards including hours on the job and descriptions of work completed
  • 4+ years experience (preferred) in both Industrial and Commercial projects. Capable of troubleshooting.
  • Able to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Interpret sketches and plans to layout and install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and safety codes.
  • Identify hazards or defects, and repairs or replaces wiring, equipment, or fixtures as needed.
  • Performs all tasks and duties in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.
